Many of my students are dealing with trauma among other things. This project is helping me give them a space and some tools to help them with their mental health. By having a space and tools to use it can help students improve socially and academically. My students deserve a welcoming space with nice furniture and a great curriculum that helps teach mindfulness techniques. I am hoping to not only teach specific students strategies, but I am hoping to also use the curriculum to go into classrooms and teach the strategies as well. This project will help our students tremendously and I am looking forward to their smiles and excitement when they see the new furniture and activities.
