Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect. It means that you've looked beyond the imperfections. My students are happy-go-lucky and make lemonade out of lemons every day! My students are on 100% free lunch and most of them come from single parent households. They are working against all odds and striving to be the first college graduate of their families. My students are carefree spirits who thrive on knowledge and love learning new things. They are extremely compassionate and such joys! Most of my students do not have any books or school supplies at home. A guiding principle we always say every morning is "Vision means seeing what is possible and taking action." This is what my students work towards everyday!
