About my class

My students enjoy the adventure that reading takes you on. However, reading is much more than just words on a page. Beyond phonics, in order for students to understand what they are reading, they have to be able to comprehend text. My students struggle with comprehension skills and it is my mission to help them become stronger readers and understand the stories they read. The donations to this project will help uncover comprehension skills that my students desperately need to connect with their reading and writing experiences. My students being able to comprehend creates a direct connection to stronger writing skills. Students who understand what they read are able to write about their findings. With this comprehension set and flexible seating options while reading, my students get the opportunity to improve upon reading, comprehension, and writing skills.
