Every year math and science is being integrated with more technology, and engineering practices. I want to be able to give my students a chance to be successful with both subjects and prepare them for this new word without fear of technology. Recently, I received a Smartboard for my classroom, but my room lacks a carpet where I can gather my students in front of the Smart board or show them math concepts using math manipulatives. They have to sit on the tile floor and often refuse to do so. Also I don’t have any basic tools for science, such as a magnifying glass, microscope, or a collection of rocks and fossils. Students are tired of traditional methods of learning, they need new ways of gathering information around them, and technology is the best way to do it!
