Flexible seating benefits children in so many ways. It allows them the choice and comfort to choose their seating. This allows them to feel they have a voice in the classroom. Flexible seating also allows them to move when choosing their seat, and movement is HUGE in an elementary classroom. Research shows that children need movement throughout the day. With our classroom, we do a lot of table work with the teacher and independent work and I want students to be able to move around and sit somewhere besides their desk. And who knows, it could be a great positive reinforcement if needed.

About my class
