My 1st graders need consistent access to technology throughout the week. Although today's children spend way too much time in front of electronic devices, I know that it is now a valued and valuable learning tool. Teaching the children to do research, becoming familiar with search engines such as Kiddle, practicing their math facts skills, and doing reading comprehension quizzes are just a few of the ways that these Chromebooks will be beneficial in my classroom. Differentiation allows me to accommodate the individual needs of my students. Having computer access will keep those early finishers busy, while still allowing them to fully meet their potential. It will also give me the ability to assign specific practices to students that are struggling.
