Next year I will be teaching a pilot program at my school for students to accelerate the curriculum and have opportunities for technology integration, STEM exploration, and a lot of projects and group work. I would love to provide a variety of seating and workspace options for my students to collaborate, have meaningful conversation, and and strive for success. I have added a few things myself but having different workspaces available in my classroom will allow for students to break into groups and pairs and work in their own space. When students have a variety of places to work and flexible seating options it allows for them to choose an environment and place to work that is comfortable for them, similar to how we as adults do in our lives. An environment filled with flexible seating options allows for meaningful conversation, discussion based learning, and the sharing of ideas to flow naturally. I truly believe a flexible workspace can be a key to student success!
