Trulove's Treasures is what I call my students. They are treasures to me, their families, and our classroom and school. The word treasure is taught on the first day of school, and vocabulary is added to it throughout the year. Students must feel treasured, cared for, and provided for to learn and grow. These materials will provide a pleasing environment and comfortable place to learn and feel included. It is important for the students to be part of a community. In first grade, literacy is the main focus, and I am building a classroom from scratch, as we are adding a section. Students need to process, calculate, and navigate in many areas of their education in first grade, and a strong foundation is necessary for continued learning and growth. These children are treasured, and will learn to treasure one another throughout the year with a variety of learning activities and techniques, including LSI, Kagan, and Social Emotional Learning.
