The kids I work with want to be and do better. Having something as simple as a handheld calculator can make the difference between Basic and Mastery or confidence and hesitation. Students frequently rely on cell phone calculators, which do not have all the necessary functions, are not allowed during assessments, and have the potential of being distracting. The hardest thing about teaching this past year has been having a student ask for a calculator and having to tell them, "I'm sorry, but I do not have enough." Being able to have 1:1 calculator will ensure equity and equal opportunity for all present in the classroom.

About my class
