Our school follows the SOL guidelines but is adapted for students with multiple disabilities, including autism. We focus on academics, vocational jobs, and everyday tasks, such as hygiene skills and even washing dishes. Throughout the school year, we will teach our students' course requirements, such as math and reading, but we also emphasize the importance of self-care. We practice hygiene routines daily and discuss why these routines are so important. We brush our teeth after lunch, start the day by applying deodorant, and a big lesson we teach is proper hand washing technique. Thank you for reading about our students!
