Currently my students have to leave the classroom when needing to utilize many sensory tools offered at our program. This makes academic instruction difficult for them. My goal is to incorporate more sensory, hands-on learning, and flexible seating options to our classroom to encourage students to self regulate and become more engaged in their academic success. The donation of many of these sensory tools and hands on activities would help my students decrease their anxiety, maintain focus and become engaged in the classroom. Since the ultimate goal for these students is to return to a traditional classroom setting I feel it is important for them to learn self regulation inside the classroom rather than out. I greatly appreciate your support in my project as do my students.
