Hello everyone! I just finished my second year of teaching and used all flexible seating this last year. I am right out of college, just bought a house, and saving for a wedding next year! Because of that, my flexible seating consisted of pillows, stools that I got from 5 below (that ALL broke this year), and some crate seats that I bought and made myself. I would absolutely love the opportunity for my students to have more options for flexible seating this next school year. If some of you are wondering what exactly is flexible seating and also wondering why I used it, I will explain! I was once that student in class that could not sit still, wanted to stand or lay down to work, and just wanted to talk to everyone. With flexible seating, students get the choice on where they want to sit everyday. For an example, this past year I had a student who constantly wanted to stand to do her work. She chose the stool seats because it came with a higher table to stand and work as well! Flexible seating is helpful for students with ADHD, ADD, and ASD to stimulate focus and processing. It also gives students a fun learning environment and helps with classroom community. Why not give all students a comfortable learning environment to get the best learning opportunity. With flexible seating, all students get what they need. I absolutely loved my flexible seating and so did my parents and students! Please help me fund my class room!!
