My Kindergarten through 5th grade students come to me to learn about social skills, good study habits and career development. There are many occasions when they come sit in front of me to listen to a book, play a game or discuss a lesson. My current rug is a hand me down from an old classroom and is too small. This rug will allow a classroom of up to 24 students enough space to sit comfortably and focus without the issues of being too close to each other! This rug also provides me the chance to assign seats and rows, allowing for quick transitions from rug to desks or lines. Lastly, this rug will allow a space for students to sit and pet my therapy dog as they talk about some more difficult topics. We sometimes talk about issues like abuse, divorce and worry. My dog is able to give students extra support as we all sit on the rug and talk.
