I want every child to attain positive academic outcomes and learn to treat others with kindness and respect. Positive academic outcomes are best attained when language and social, emotional skills are developed. For this to be achieved, children need to develop empathy and appropriate social skills. During dramatic play, children learn to take turns, share, and problem solve. Children are motivated to communicate thus enhancing vocabulary and personal expression. Mr. Rogers: “Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.” In creative and dramatic play children use their imaginations to create scenarios developing their imaginations, problem-solving, negotiation, and communications skills. With your donations, the children will practice important life skills through social interactions at a grocery stand, farmyard center, and building-block center.
