This school year of 2019-2020 will be my first year of teaching. I will be teaching 3rd grade at the same school where I student taught. I am passionate about this school and the students it serves. As a teacher, I want to provide a classroom environment that is welcoming, flexible, and functional. But, since I am a first year teacher, I don't have a collection of resources that can allow for what I hope to provide for my students. This easel will give me flexibility in teaching my students where they are in the classroom, making my instruction more varied, engaging, and interactive. As a part of our 3rd grade curriculum, I will be teaching math with the Bridges in Mathematics program, which requires a "number corner." For example, after teaching a writing minilesson in one part of the room, modelling writing on the lined whiteboard side of the easel, I would easily be able to roll the easel across the room to my "number corner" to teach the Bridges lesson. I truly feel that this teaching tool would allow me to provide a seamless and simple educational experience for my future students.
