Stories Matter! I want to encourage and support the love of reading for my fourth grade students next year (2019-2020) by providing them with a class library filled with a wide range of books! Data shows that students in the 90th percentile on State Assessments are a result of the minutes they spend reading. This is because students are seeing words but also, how a word can be used in different ways (context)! Students, even those who find reading challenging, thrive in classrooms that are filled with books at different levels, where the teacher celebrates books, and students are given choice in what they read, as well as time and support to read.

About my class
