These wonderfully written children's books will be a part of my read alouds. These books will promote the themes of diversity, acceptance, and empathy. Students love to see themselves in stories and these pieces reflect their lives. These selections will align with my district's vision of equity and diversity. As a teacher of color, I want to help my students develop those traits that truly speak to our heart. Students enjoy listening to stories that touch not only their minds but their hearts. These books are what I feel is needed to help them develop the care and concern for others which is invaluable. These books will support this endeavor and my passion to promote a classroom of acceptance.
