My fifth graders need a kidney table and chairs for small group and differentiated instruction in my English Language Arts classroom. On a weekly basis, my students work in parters/groups, centers, conduct writing conferences/peer editing, and work in a small group setting with me. While the class is working independently or together in groups, this table will allow me to group students and work with them to target specific student needs in a small group setting. The table and chairs would have a positive impact on student learning, as I will be able to work with students in their struggling areas.
