Imagine hearing about all the different, amazing places around the world in your classes, but knowing that you will never be able to afford to travel there. This is the reality for my students, and I want to change that. This fund will be able to provide a scholarship for a dedicated, high achieving, low income student to participate in the trip of a lifetime exploring Quito, Ecuador and several of the Galapagos Islands. Students will be able to immerse themselves in the local culture, learn about the local ecosystems, and discover how Ecuador works to protect its natural resources. Their participation will not only cultivate a greater appreciation of the world and its cultures but will enrich the experience for the my student travelers as they make personal connections across social barriers.
