I love to do STEAM activities with my classroom. One of our STEAM activities we do every year is called Marsville. During this project the students become NASA engineers. After researching, they design and build systems that they believe would help them survive in Mars. Our final activity allows them to build a dwelling out of materials that is big enough for 11 students to spend the day in. We would love to enhance this activity with the use of virtual reality goggles. There are apps that would allow each student to virtually go to Mars. I love to incorporate mindful practices into my classroom with music, meditation, and seating. We will use the seating to help make our classroom welcoming for students, in an enviornment that all students will succeed in.
