It is difficult for parents to help their child at home with science experiments, with most working 2 jobs and having limited time and incomes. It is my goal to expose my students to as much social studies, math, and science as possible to open their world of possibilities. We have limited funding and do not have a cafeteria at our charter school, so most of our experiments have to be done at home or not at all. My students and I will use these tools to create meaningful lessons in areas of math, reading, science, and writing. This real life/real world learning helps improve retention ability and creates experiences that they will remember in the future. My students are learning and applying writing conventions, public speaking skills, and research skills.I purchased the Moby Max program that allows my students yet another way for them to experience these concepts.The math tools help my students solidify abstract ideas through hands on explanations and allows them the ability to see and explain how they problem solved. I purchased as much as I could for our class, however, I just simply cannot afford to purchase more without help.
