The books in this order will allow me to get books into the hands of my students that are both highly engaging and on their level. These books will help me teach decoding, sight words, and basic comprehension skills like retelling. With these books, I will lead powerful small groups that help students learn and apply key skills in their own reading. After using the books in the group with me, students will be able to practice with the book in the classroom for a few days to be sure they master the skills independently. With the leveled books, I will be able to focus on the specific learning needs of a variety of students.
