My classroom is much more than a learning space. It's a thriving community where we respect diverse opinions, ask questions, support each other, and firmly believe that every idea is a good idea! Students in my class are getting know themselves as learners to determine their own strengths and needs and reflect on how they can find the answers to questions that matter to them. Every student in my classroom has a unique voice that is important and valued in our classroom community. Creating community is essential to my students' comfort in taking risks and sharing their thinking with each other. I care deeply for my students and I love watching how they care for each other in turn. I have found that getting to know my students well as individuals has helped to create a real sense of belonging. Our classroom is a home away from home in all the best ways!
