It is important for my students to be guided into making appropriate social decisions and choices. To do this, I need books, games, and we need to practice exploring these situations. Social Skills games and books, and flexible seating options allows us to meet together as a community to discuss social issues to help us in the world at large. Flexible seating is wonderful to help allow students to move while not causing a distraction. Wobble chairs and bounce seats will help students who need additional movements maintain their attention during a lesson. If a student is feeling frustrated, they are able to position their seats away from others and gather themselves and rejoin the group instead of acting out. Students would then be able to use the noise canceling headphones, if they are overstimulated and need to have some quiet time to themselves. Being able to explore appropriate social behaviors through books and games, give my students the opportunity to explore these behaviors while being immersed in different learning experiences.
