I believe students learn best working with varied mediums and materials because it gives them a chance to succeed across multiple modalities. For example, a student that cannot express themselves through drawing or painting may use other art mediums to express their ideas. Not only do I believe the printmaking experience will benefit my students, it is also a part of the New York City Visual Art curriculum. Currently, I am able to offer my students these varied experiences, but i do not have adequate tools to give them a fulfilling printmaking experience, which includes etching, inking, symmetry and motifs.
