Math today is heavily centered around technology. We use graphing calculators almost on a daily basis in the upper level math classes and we are starting to need them more and more for Algebra 1 and Geometry. Most of my students are unable to afford one of their own and it would greatly help if I could get at least 10 of them for my classroom. We would then have the ability to complete some additional activities in class, with collecting, graphing, and analyzing data, as well as evaluating trigonometry functions and matrices. There are so many functions available on these calculators and many more labs we could do for hands on projects to be able to reach students next year and prepare them for life beyond high school.
