During these trying times in our community (as well as the world), my goal for this project is simply to try and give my students a bit of normality when we return back to school-whether it be next month, or the start of next school year. This fishing gear will provide my students with plenty of adventure and socializing with fellow classmates and teachers outside of the classroom. Myself and at least two other teachers from my school have volunteered to take my students fishing after school on Tuesdays. We will do this as soon as we get back to school and continue this program every spring and fall. I have already started a Google Classroom for this fishing club. I have started posting basic information such as the start of fishing season, fish identification charts, and equipment use. I have also invited students to join and to recommend other potentially interested students. I will continue to inform students on techniques, send how to videos, and invite students to share information or photos of their fishing experiences until we can fish together-socially!
