I have chosen several diverse playsets to add to my classroom. It is so important that our students see themselves represented in all areas of our classrooms, including the toys they play with! I have selected a set of diverse families to go in our dollhouse center. This will allow students of varied backgrounds to see themselves and their families in these toys. Additionally, I would like some small block figures that depict characters with a variety of ethnic backgrounds. My students love to play with these building blocks and currently, the only figures I could find were all Caucasian. Funding this project will bring much-needed diversity to my classroom and help it feel more inclusive!
