Early childhood learning takes place through the process of creating, doing, inquiring and making connections. The outcomes of this process are not in a specific product but in the skills developed while engaging in these activities. This theory comes from the Reggio Emilia approach and principals. Process art and loose parts play are the avenues in which children develop all skills simultaneously through inquiry based learning opportunities carefully crafted by teachers. It is my hope to bring these theories into my classroom everyday and expose my students to opportunities they would otherwise never experience given their families have limited financial means.
