These books will help my students travel "around the world" virtually each week as we explore a new country. Each book is the backbone of that week's curriculum. In addition to the rich literature, we will explore the cooking, history and cultural traditions of each country. With the help of these books, this summer, my students will visit: Peru, Greece, Australia, India and Greenland. Many of my students do not have the opportunity to travel, even outside of their home city of Philadelphia, let alone internationally to these far away places. We want to bring the world to them by inspiring curiosity about other countries and cultures. The world becomes more interconnected each day and I want to make sure my students have every opportunity to participate in that world, regardless of their families or their school's financial means.
