These Chromebooks will help to provide more students the ability to work with technology on a daily basis. Using technology is an essential part of almost every job or career in today's world. Providing students the ability to use technology in a productive way in school is essential for developing well rounded students. In writing, students will uses these computers to type essays using articles. Students will work on improving their writing skills (organizing paragraphs, citing evidence, using smooth transition phrases), as well as their computer skills (cut and paste, bold, capitalization, indenting). Both of these are necessary skills that students will need all the way through college and into their careers. These laptops will help to provide a base for learning these skills. The Chromebooks will also be used in our math centers as a way to differentiated learning so that all students are able to learn through educational math websites designed to provide each student help right where they need it. Finally, these Chromebooks will allow for students to research questions and follow their interesting relating to our learning. As an International Baccalaureate school, inquiry based learning is an important part of our classroom and these laptops will provide resources for students to continue to extend their knowledge.
