Each semester, our required Dance I and Dance II classes (which are taken by every freshmen and sophomore student at our school) come together to perform in front of the student body and surrounding community as part of their final exam. While I call each and every family to personally invite them to the dance concert, it can be disappointing to find out that, with our current lighting capabilities, many students cannot be seen in the videos that are taken of the live performances to send to the families who are unable to make it. As part of a co-located school building, we have not yet been able to fully revamp the existing stage lighting (which have been out of commission for over a decade). Now that we have juniors and seniors considering auditioning for collegiate dance programs (including four seniors who will be minoring in dance next year and one who is on a full ride to study dance out-of-state), it feels urgent to ensure that students are able to compete with their peers in other parts of the country by relying on as professional as possible videography from our performance events. Thank you so much for considering contributing to this project and helping to ensure that our lights shine as bright as the students taking the stage to perform.
