My students are given the opportunity to work on a research topic of their choice. My first question to them is, What is something that really gets your goat, something that when you wake up in the morning you are thinking about and would like to change? When they are given the freedom to work on a topic of their choice, they develop a real sense of ownership of that project, and the weight of the mundane process of research is given wings. Unfortunately, one of the obstacles that we face at my school is a lack of technology; therefore, with the addition of iPads, these students will have more opportunities to find the information that they need to successfully complete their research. With these tools they can put their ideas into action.

About my class
