Sphero EDU has a huge variety of interactive and engaging lessons across all subjects and grade levels. As a high school biomedical science teacher all I need to unlock this massive library of resources is a Sphero BOLT. This robot will allow me to enhance my curriculum by bringing the rich world of coding into my lessons. Instead of doing a boring worksheet, Sphero allows me to teach content in a way my students have never seen before. One example of how I would use the BOLT is for a lesson on blood flow. In the Sphero EDU library, there is an activity titled, "Aortic Explorer: A Cardiovascular Tale." This lesson is described as follows, "Sphero is one in trillions of tiny red blood cells in the human body, but he is eager to be the most efficient and hardworking he can be! Help Sphero tell his tale as he travels the vast cardiovascular system of the human body." Students are able to code the robot to trace the pathway of blood through the heart and body. They can change the color of the robot from blue to red to represent deoxygenated blood and oxygenated blood. This is just one lesson of SO MANY that will enhance the learning experience and ultimately allow students to learn the content on a much deeper level.
