Next year our school will offer our students an elective choice during their school day. We plan to incorporate the microscopes into our STEAM lab. In the STEAM lab, we plan to explore Life Science as one of our units; microscopes would emphasize learning if students could actually see things like cell structures and microbial samples. We will connect their exploration to their reading and writing as they research and conduct experiments. We are fortunate to have a great supply of technology; iPads, Chromebooks, and Mac desktops, but we need Microscopes. We would like to help students connect their microscopic discoveries to technology by developing videos, WriteRead books, Nearpod lessons, daily/weekly news broadcast and other applications that we may decide to incorporate.
