I am a first year 5th grade teacher and I am starting to build my classroom library. These books will be a great start to give my students access to a variety of text at their reading levels. My school uses Accelerated Reader to help students show their comprehension of the text. These books will help us start the year off right! My students need text that will inspire them, relate to them and encourage them to expand their thinking beyond their own world views. Students in 5th grade need chapter books at a variety of levels to accommodate a variety of reading preferences and ability levels.
