I teach 21 enthusiastic, excited, and energetic 1st graders. These students are working hard to develop reading, writing, and mathematical skills that will support the rest of their educational careers. It's a critical time for development! Given that, we are all at different stages. Some of us are reading and writing beyond grade level while others are still mastering our letter names and sounds. Regardless, we are all engaged in learning and working our hardest to reach success. Our class motto is "Never Give Up!" and they remind me of this every day. My students are empathetic, caring, and inspiring little humans that are driven to pursue their love for learning. They all come from diverse backgrounds and speak a variety of languages. Their unique stories enhance our curriculum and everyday interactions. While they are small, they are mighty in their determination for independence and success!
