Laptops will change my classroom for the better! I teach in a school with a high population of special education students. I have students with disabilities that prevent them from writing, such as processing disorders, ADD and ADHD, just to name a few. The laptops will help my students who have issues writing on paper. It's also excellent motivation for neuro-typical students as well. Using Google Classroom through my school allows me to further engage with my students, but we have a limited number of laptops to share throughout the school. Stadardized tests are also now done on the computer, and as an ELA teacher I need to make sure my students can brainstorm, write a rough draft, edit, and post a finished conclusion all on the computer! This takes a ton of practice that isn't available to many of my students.
