My students are dedicated and hard working individuals who want the same chance that everybody else has. They want to be able to get a good education. They want to compete in a highly intertwined and interdependent society. They want to be able to get a decent job someday. They live in a high poverty neighborhood infested with gangs and impoverishment. They care about their community and their neighborhood. Their school has made tremendous gains to close the academic gap with other schools in Los Angeles. However, they would like their school to have greater resources to enrich their lives.

About my class
