Our 3rd graders have over 330 Texas Essential Knowledge and Skill standards to learn in a year, with over 190 of them dedicated to Reading and Math alone. According to education researchers, students need to encounter concepts at least 3 different times to learn and apply it to real life properly. With 190 standards in Reading and Math that is over 570 times within 180 days. That number might seem astronomical, but with your help we can better achieve this. It's a well-known fact that children learn through play. In order to help reach this amount of exposure in an engaging and lasting way, we would like to replace our outdated, well-loved board games with new current, up to date, engaging, educational board games. With your generous help our students can become confident, strong readers and mathematicians ready to face the world.
