These materials will help to bring hands on learning, logic and collaboration into my classroom for years to come! Our students need more critical thinking and problem solving skills. According to the U. S. Department of Commerce, STEM occupations are growing at 17%. STEM degree holders have a higher income even in non-STEM careers. Science, technology, engineering and mathematics workers play a key role in the sustained growth and stability of the U.S. economy. STEM education creates critical thinkers, increases science literacy, and enables the next generation of innovators. Innovation leads to new products and processes that sustain our economy. This innovation and science literacy depends on a solid knowledge base in the STEM areas. It is clear that most jobs of the future will require a basic understanding of math and science. Please help our students become critical thinkers! There are so many options to use these items like whole group activities, center activities, or classroom makerspace! These items will promote problem solving, collaboration and engagement in my 3rd grade classroom. The items will help them to retain what they are learning and empower them to continue to ask why! Science is composed of the 5 E's; Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate with Stem and Evaluate! Lets help my 3rd graders elaborate their learning in an engaging way!
