This novel, "One of Us is Lying", is a new thrilling young adult suspense novel that combines the comradery of "The Breakfast Club" with the mystery of "Pretty Little Liars." By adding interest, diversity, and intrigue to the curriculum I hope to help my students feel empowered as they discover that they have the ability to learn and apply important reading skills so that they can pass the state test and graduate from high school! There are so many great activities we will be able to do with this book that will help my students build important skills like, determining author's purpose, finding, identifying and explaining text evidence, increasing grammar skills and reading fluency, and doing cross-over activities to find similarities between this story and other stories or films.
