My students need to prepare to live independent lives as part of a larger community. They need to learn to be their own advocates in an ever-changing world. As self-advocates, my students need to aware of decisions made in their communities, city, nation and even the world. They need to be aware of issues that impact their futures, how to find information on the issues and how to communicate the impact decisions being made may have on their lives. I plan to use the Talkingbrix to give my students an alternate means of communicating to me that they have understood the lessons we will cover which will help them to become contributing members of their communities.

About my class
