My project involves helping students with their literacy needs. By the end of 4K kids will need to have strong communication skills so that they will be able to build up a strong foundation in literacy. On average 50 percent of kids that come into 4K do not have any literary skills. It will also benefit me in helping the kids individually with academic classroom challenges such as learning their letters sounds and helping the kids to learn their alphabet. I would look for programs to help and motivate the children in order to help prepare them for kindergarten. It will also be used to collect data, communicate with staff and intervention when needed. It would be very helpful to have a computer that I can use at my convenience to look up appropriate lessons for their age group.
