About my class

M.C. Williams Middle School is in Northwest Houston in the historic Acres Homes Community. The school’s enrollment consists of students comprised of 47% African American, 51% Hispanic, and 1% Caucasian and less than 1% other. About 99% of the students enrolled at M.C. Williams are economically disadvantaged and approximately 25% are English Language Learners, 15% Special Education and 5% Gifted and Talented. During the current COVID 19 Pandemic, our students have regressed in math and reading. Campus leaders are making deliberate attempts to recapture students and push for continued academic improvement. Our district has purchased a supplemental online reading and math program for all students. Students are encouraged to complete at least 3 lessons a week on Imagine Learning. At this time virtual and in person students' completed lessons are low. Our campus has initiated an incentive program to encourage our students to log on and compete lessons. Specifically, students who complete the most lessons in a 4 week period will be rewarded a brand new pair of Crocs in the color of their choosing. We believe that we can encourage students to log on at school and at home to complete these lessons if we couple the "Croc Campaign" with our campus trinket and snack rewards.
