One of my roles as a co-teacher in 4 full inclusion 9-12 classrooms is to modify and accommodate materials and instruction to meet the needs of our special education population and at-risk students. My students strive to keep up at a pace above their level of functioning and are driven to succeed and be successful. The materials that I am requesting will help my students master their IEP goals by creating fun, engaging, and creative ways to learn. There are many apps and educational games that target the skills my students are working on. There are even ways to incorporate the iPads while working on daily living and vocational skills. The iPads will open up unlimited opportunities for learning and the essential technological skills needed in today's world. I have seen how much more engaged students are when technology is involved. I would love to give my students the opportunity to utilize technology at the touch of a finger.
