I am a teacher of 24 1st grade students in a Title I school in Houston, TX. Given our Title I status, nearly all of my students come from low-income, single-parent households. Most Durham parents do not have the means to fill in the gap for missing equipment or shortages in supplies for their children. Texas cuts to school budgets have depleted the money used for supplies and equipment in the classroom. As a Title I school our parents are not able to raise large sums of money to fill the gap.

About my class
