There is so much research that shows that learning through play is what is developmentally appropriate for our earliest learners. It is tough to sit at a desk and do worksheets at this age. With the right materials, play can be directed so that it reinforces lessons in all academic areas and encourages growth in social skills. When students are engaged in purposeful play, they are having fun and don't even realize they are learning. What's more, this type of hands-on learning sticks better and sinks deeper. I am asking for a variety of resources including a set of sand and water activity tubs, magna tiles, and giant alphabet beads. The products I have selected will support my students' growth in reading, writing, math, and more. Your donation will provide additional choices when it comes to Literacy and Math Centers. Students take more ownership in their learning when they have the chance to choose. I have seen how choice can positively affect student engagement and outcome. I hope that the additional options will help my students grow even more.
