The fifth-grade science curriculum has varied focuses: energy and engineering, sound and vibration, earth science and environmental issues, and space. We are requesting funds to help cover the cost of our transportation to the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. The Franklin Institute has six permanent exhibits that will allow our students to interact with the same concepts that they are studying throughout the year. From visiting The Train Factory and Sir Isaac’s Loft to testing Newton’s Laws to going through the Space Command and The Joel N. Bloom Observatory to check out solar flares, these are experiences that will enrich our students’ lives.
