As a first year teacher, my sources are limited. A goal I have set for my second grade classroom is to make writing a celebration and incorporate it across the curriculum. Hopefully by the end of the year, they will fall in love with writing and in return, reading. A second grader's imagination is a tool that text cannot compete with; so let's use that tool, that natural wonder, to create writers that show us how to connect to their world. My hopes are that we can build their limited connections through writing to help build the classroom culture, help me get to know them more, and in return, help them get to know themselves more. Thank you in advance for helping my very first classroom grow by supporting my writing center project!
